Another fun book in this series! This was missing the urgency in the case that makes police procedurals unputdownable. I don’t know what exactly it was missing, but it was missing that “spark” that makes the reader turn the pages frantically. I enjoyed the character development and found the case to be a good one. Just missing a little spark that the other books had. I’m excited to see where the characters go and look forward to the next book in the series!

This is the start of a new series and I am PUMPED!! This was a fast paced, can’t put it down, riveting read. It starts off with a bang- literally, as teenagers crash their ATV and body parts start falling onto their windshield. CREEEEPY!! Turns out, the teenagers have discovered a serial killers dumping grounds and the race is on to find the killer before the next victim. I enjoyed the lead FBI agent Laurel and found her relationship with the people in town to be interesting. The romance was sweet but the love scenes felt a bit gratuitous. There were so many layers to the plot and the characters, all of them adding to the story in a wonderful way. To say I binged this would be an understatement- I couldn’t put it down! I cannot WAIT for the next in this series and see where we go from here.

I loved the book aspect of this novel! The book references and publishing info was so fun for this book nerd. The characters were interesting and I was rooting for them throughout. I was frustrated with the mental illness aspect, as it was kind of glazed over and not really explained or investigated. I feel like it could have been either left out completely or fleshed out more, but the way it was done left me feeling unsettled and frustrated. Other than that, this was a fun book about finding your path and creating a happy life. My thanks to the publisher for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review!
