Mmm, glorious, just chefs kiss.
Marvelous.
Hot.
Titillating.
AND I NEED MORE. This short story is gonna be canon in my head because I want nothing else. It's just perfection.

I think I liked this book a lot more than the first. My only gripe still is the pacing, it felt kind of all over the place. I also still feel the world building is still lacking (for me at least). They kept jumping around in places that I couldn't really keep up with it. (I was talking to a friend regarding world building decriptions, and its fun to learn how people read books)
The SLOW BURN THOUGH. IT'S TOO SLOW. I HATE IT, YET I STILL LOVE IT LIKE WHY?!
Because how the book ended, I will read Accomplice to the Villain.

I received an ARC from the author, and though my review is honest and ture, I wish the author the best of luck!
The beginning made me super depressed and severe whiplash. i wasn't sure what was going on in the book, and honestly felt it was going pretty face. The world building was okay, I definitely felt there could have been...more. I am really intrigued about the magic system and how it works, especially when we find out about Lithia.
The trope was suppose to be grumpy x grumpy, thought I feel it's just more depressed trying to be tough for those around them female x grumpy male.
The spice....was okay, though I did laughed out loud aboutdeath by snu snu (the poor 12 females lolol) I definitely got the author to laugh at that. (Don't come at me, she has a discord and I was doing chapter by chapter reactions)
The ending though! Omg the cliffhanger got me soooooo mad and I was also fucking right! I can't wait for the 2nd book, because I need more. My questions needs to be answered.

So, I'm kinda sad this wasn't as detailed as I hoped to be. It was a lot more sapphic romance than anything. (Which I don't mind) My only gripe is the title. You see gorgosaur, I was expecting more gorgosaur.
We didn't get much of the gorgosaur, and when we did...it was...graphic....in a gore sense. That part I wasn't ready for.
Is it bad to say I wanted more dino smut?
Thank you Netgallery for allowing me to read this short read. Though, my review is honest and true, I wish the author the best of luck!

Honestly, this was a good short read. I'm really only sad because I wanted it to be longer. The world building was good. Could it have been better? Probably, but it's definitely a LOT better world build-up than some even popular fantasy books (cough cough Broken Bonds by J. Bree). Also, the details to feed. I was mad because I wanted some! And being sick doesn't help, haha.
I felt the high stakes were there, but it wasn't adrenaline pumping, I had to read what happened next kind of thing.
Personally, I felt the story was a bit rushed. I think it could have expanded outside the academy of tiny bit to foreshadow to go back into the academy. Get that heated desire tension between the characters.
Also, does Gwyn go by she/her and / or they/them pronouns? Because in the ARC copy, it was used a she/them. Which is fine, I just needed to know for my sanity.
Also, plus two, I'm a Spice girly, i wouldn't mind some Sapphic romance sprinkle sprinkle

Spice ⏳️⏳️⏳️.5
I received an ARC from the author, and though my review is honest and true, I wish them the best of luck
I ate this book up. I could have finished this in one sitting, but being under the weather, i couldn't do that myself.
I'm glad the book picked up right after the 1st one. The story itself was really good. The characters, though, man, FMC really knows how to get on my nerves, lol. I am glad she finds her own group of friends with the help of MMC.
While we jump from different pov to Shaylah and Michael, I've been expecting this. What I wasn't expecting was the spice level. LIKE OH MAH GODS. It was so good. I still don't know whether to rate this a 3.5 or a 4.5 for Spice. Because *ahem* Michael can do some things to me if you know what I'm saying. I mainly loved more of their POV than Thomas and Emilia (it's always the side main characters romance that's better. Why? I've been curious at that).
I love the author for trying her best to be historically accurate.
I am sad to finish the duet/series. It was bittersweet. Even more sad about Michael *sniff*, but Shaylah got her closure, and I couldn't be happier for her.
Spoilers are starting here
I felt some parts dragged a bit. Emilia, not getting her memories back UNTIL THE VERY END, got me so worked up. And I legit almost believed Thomas died. Big fuck you for that. Michael dying, I was sad to the point I felt numb, detached. I didn't cry (i wanted to) but just felt like nothing was going right because Shaylah's person is gone. He was starting a new life, with her, only to do and ugh it crush my fucking heart
The whole bit with Charles felt....uncalled for? It wasn't right for Emilia. How do i say it without sounding rude. She didn't have put herself in the situation, but I understand why.
I'm a spicy girly so I will talking about Spice from here on out. BECAUSE MICHAEL GOOD SIR, you and your lil menage a trois et quatre. Fucking delicious. I ate that shit up sooo fucking good. And with Shaylah gaining her power bad and adding the plus one into the mix. Like fuck yes.

Okay, at first, I didn't like where the book was starting. A lot of names were confusing and weird. I now understand they're codenames. I actually liked the book a lot more than I thought I would.
I will say the FMC doesn't really act like a 40 year old? (Okay, how does one act like a 40 year old lolol). Maybe if she was in her 30s, I would understand that a bit more. Also, we love a crystal girly.
I was also.....expecting a bit more Spice. Hehehe, I hope the next book is spicier because I'm all for it.
