تتبع رواية ليالي الف ليلة لنجيب محفوظ حكايات واساطير الف ليلة وليلة، ويحكي نجيب القصة بطريقة كتابته وكلماته، الكتاب هو مجموعة من القصص عن حي في الف ليلة وليلة ويحكمه سلطان الذي قتل الاف العذاري (شهريار)، ويحكي قصص عن اغلب من في الحي من وزير الى مجنون، من جن الى ملائكة.
الكتاب بشكل عام جيد، لكن لدي بعض المآخذ.
احب طريقة كتابة نجيب مثل اي شخص، فينتقي نجيب انسب الكلمات للمشهد.
ولكن لم تعجبني طريقته في كتابة الشخصيات النسائية -وهذه ما اعتقد نفس النقطة في اغلب كتبه- فالنساء فقط محرك للقصة، ولم يتواجد اي عمق في شخصياتهن.
والقصة قد تشد انتباه البعض لكني وجدت نفسي أسرح من الملل في بعض الاحيان، واحيان اخرى يحمسني نجيب كفاية حتى اقلب الصفحة التي بعدها.

أبدع دوستوفيسكي في كتابة مما يعتبر اول كتب الإثارة النفسية، ندخل في عقل المجرم وكيفية تفكيره وما أعذاره لإرتكاب الجريمة وما عقابها.
تساؤلات مثيرة عن مبادئ الإنسان الأخلاقية، ومحادثات فلسفية نفسية تشدك للتفكير معه.
النقطة الوحيدة السلبية بالنسبة لي هو طول الكتاب وبطئ السرد.
غير ذلك فالكتاب رائع ولكنه ليس قراءة سهلة فركز جيدًا أثناء القراءة.

I can’t even fathom how this book made me feel.
It’s one of the books that after you finish you just stare at the ceiling and think wtf have I just read (in a good way of course)
Morality, loneliness, academia, and picturesque are the first words that come to mind when I think of this book
This book is absolutely amazing from the characters, the writing, the philosophy, the aesthetics, the romanticism.
This is definitely in my top 5 best books I’ve ever read

من أحب الكتب الى قلبي، طريقة كتابة جبران ووصفه من أجمل ما قرأت، كأن تقرأ شعر تذوق جبران جمال اللغة العربية.
أعجبني كتابته لمعاناة المرأة في مجتمعنا العربية خصوصًا في الحب، نادر ما يُكتب عنه من قبل كُتاب رجال عرب.
أنصح به لأي أحد.

I really didn’t expect to like this book so much but I did.
the world building, the characters, the romance it’s all well written. And ofc I loved the inclusion of Indian culture.
I felt it was pretty slow at the beginning, a bit boring too but the story picks up and then you just can’t stop reading.
Highly recommended if you like fantasy sapphic novels with diverse characters.
