So, I love this book. Its definitely a page turner. I picked it up because it was the book of the month in a book club. The book club on fbook is called books between strangers. I joined it to read more books and make friends with book people. It was a quick read. I read it in about a month.
This book is about the queen of hearts but before she becomes the queen. She has a brother that is the mad hatter and cant take the Thorne. So, her dad is hateful and basically shows no love towards his kids at all. When she was 10 her mother died. Now she is 17 and this girl shows up and apparently is the bastard child of her father that is 15. He announces it to everyone in the court and expects everyone to welcome this girl. Like he has no remorse for cheating on his wife so long ago.
So, now she has to navigate through all of this. The story is well written. It has a lot of plot twists and will keep you guessing.

so I give this book a four star. I really liked the characters and the plot and how the twists and turns were and even the cliffhanger. We go from a space battle to making a deal with the father of the daughter she got into an accident with and as a result she died. So, shes needed to retrieve the brother of this girl. So, she has no choice and does it with her all girl crew and her ex. They find him and have to sneak into this jail that you're not suppose to get out of. Somethings happen along the way but they get out. Things take a turn when they have to crash land on a planet that the 2nd in command is from. She doesnt wanna be here because she decided to be a pilot over being a princess. Then, the peace festival is attacked and they barely get out. But Lira's brother is hit. Now I do think some charters could of had more development. or maybe a different reason like Lira just not wanting to be a princess. but anyway they deliver this guy back home but hes changed somehow. Their contract is extended and have to stay for a ball. Which that as well gets attacked by Nora who is the daughter of Klaren who the general (Vallen & kaileghs dad) killed long ago. Apparently everyone was getting shot with zenith Nora's invention that then she can control these people. So I thought that was a wooooo of a twist of the story. So, I am totally excited for the 2nd book. idk if it has a release date yet lol. The only problems I had was s po sometimes things were explained differently and also how andi treats her dad. Like he helped you escape death and you're mad cause he didnt go with you. Like ugh lol but overall 4 stars for this goodreads. the authors did a fantastic job with this one.

So, this is a book that I found out from a booktuber.  For some background on the author she contacted these booktubers saying she was a marketing intern with Penguin Random House which turned out to be true but shoe was only one for a month.  Anyway she said she had a priority book to read and another book that she would send monthly and what not.  Well the one booktuber got the package and saw one book was published like 2 years ago at the time. This happened in 2016 I believe.  So, she had posted on Snapchat that she had received these books and was excited to partner with Penguin.  Well and hr later someone was like umm I think you have the book that my friend has from this scammer author person.  Turns out it was true.  The sad thing is this girl had already put out 2 books while in high school and has won an award of some sort.  She literally could have just sent these books out because I think some people will put a mailing address for fans to send them mail. But she went about it all the wrong way and probably ruined her career.
This story is about a baby girl that was abandoned at a circus in the middle of the night.  The owner finds her and while walking past the lions she started to giggle and laugh.  So, he puts her in there for the night and she sleeps well.
She later becomes Leona the lion tamer.  Everyone comes around just to see them perform.  There is a rival circus that is called Spectacoolo that wants her. The owner tries and traps her in a maze but a little boy helps her out. But later she realize that he has stolen her lions.  She goes to Spectaccolo to get her lions back but she makes a deal with the owner to stay so he don't hurt her lions.  She is forced to live in a cage whenever she isn't performing for him.  Her cheating of a boyfriend comes to her rescue but is captured before he can free her.  They both are forced to live in these cages and wait.
This is a good book to read but the as I said earlier this author went about it the wrong way.

This 2nd book takes place 3 months after the events of the 1st book. Ceony is still studying under Magician Thane. She has a friends names Delilah that is studying under Magician Aviosky who is over the school.
Ceony keeps having memories of Lira & what happened. Delilah is a glass appreintace. For Ceony the field trip to the paper mill is an required course. But while they are there an expolision happens. They were able to escape the fire.
Ceony knows she has to face Grath and the other excisioner so that no one else gets hurt because of her.
Ceony enlists the help of her friend Delilah. They go into the girls bathroom where there is a large mirror for Ceony to pass throguh and meet with Grath. She gets through and meets him at a barn where he has a lot of mirrors. Something goes wrong and Grath brekas the mirror and Delilah goes and gets the help of the magicians. Emery tracks her down and brings her back.
In the end she defeats Grath but loses her friend to him. Emery was scared of losing Ceony in all of this. This is the best series that I have read. I would recommend this book and series to anyone that likes to read.

This book follows Ceony Twill. She went to Tagis Praff School for magicians. She completed her schooling in a year instead of the usual 2 years. She got a scholarship from an anonymous donor who turned out to be Magician Thane who she was assigned to. She wanted to be a smolter but with the folder or paper magician shortage she had no choice in the matter.
So, she goes to Magician Thane's cottage outside of London. She is not at all thrilled about this nor does she want to be a paper magician. But after some time she begins to like paper. Magician Thane makes her a paper dog whom she named Fennel. He acts just like a real dog would.
Then one day Lira shows up. She is the ex wife of Emery. She became an excisioner. Someone that does dark magic with flesh. She flings Ceony aside and pins Emery against the wall of the kitchen. She then proceeds to rip his heart out and leaves. Ceony hurries and makes a paper heart for him. Which is said to maybe last a few days at best. Ceony sits out to find this woman and bring back the heart of the man whom shes falling for unexpectedly. She only has paper magic on her side since once you bond with a material that bond is for life.
This book is a really good read. It has a good plot line and builds characters easily. I almost get a Harry Potter feel. But with this one anyone can be a magician. She can make an origami bird and say breathe and it animates. But this only occurs after the bonding ceremony.
