I wanted to like this book but I found it completely unconvincing.
I wanted to give this 3.5 stars but the app doesn’t let me. This isn’t the kind of book I’m drawn to but the portrayal of alcoholism from the point of view of a highly-functioning alcoholic who is in denial until almost the last page is spot on. The characters are well-rounded and believable if you’re comfortable with dwelling almost exclusively in the world of the very wealthy (which I guess I’m not or I would have given it 4 stars). It even has a layer of dry humour so all in all, a pretty good read.
