This is a great book, but the last time I read it I was 16 and had no concept of the very mature, disturbing themes within. Definitely needed a CW for round 2!

Story: 4 stars // Audio narrator: 2.5
The story is sweet and I love Alice Hoffman's books, but wish the narration was better. There's quite a lot of overacting, especially for the teen character, which made it an awkward listen in some parts. I remember this voice actress from another book and felt the same way. Nevertheless, this is an otherwise lovely little story.

This was a GREAT book, until the very, very end. The last twist was a little too over the top but otherwise this was a good, quick thriller.
DNF (which I feel completely guilty over as many of my friends LOVE JL and her latest has such amazing reviews, so don't at me).
This may be better enjoyed in print versus audio, though I did enjoy the sound effects and the singing of each chapter's title. I just couldn't stick with it.
