I held off reading this when it first came out, and waited longer once GSK had been captured. I wanted to savor Michelle’s hard work and give it the time and attention it deserved, rather than quickly blow through it like I do with other titles. I’m so grateful I did, because this book is absolutely stunning. One of the best true crime books I’ve ever read.
Absolutely loved this. The only reason it’s not a 5-star is because of his narration. Billy has some wicked vocal fry, and after a while I wanted him to go drink some tea with honey.
Such a beautiful story that I was fortunate enough to read with Ben for this year's Battle of the Books. He said it has been his favorite of all the books he had to read for the battle, and I agree wholeheartedly.
