I adored the manner of how this book was written. The words flow seamlessly and I easily found myself consuming the novel in a short amount of time. I also liked how the novel was split into three parts which highlights the events of the three separate occassions.

I adore how the first part allows you to sympathize with Maurice for a tad bit, knowing that he divulged the horrible things Erich has done despite Maurice being blatantly egotistic and arrogant. The second part, then, completely shows how Maurice will stop at nothing, making you root for Edith. The third part, where Maurice's crimes finally catcher up to him, gives you the satisfaction. Although, I was hoping for the worst when it came to Maurice's ending to give Edith and Daniel the justice they deserved.

Chilling how the events from this era mirrors the present. All the more reason for this book to be read by Filipinos today, especially the youth.
