This book snuck up on me at the end of this year. Out of the 70 books I read this year, it was by far my favorite. 

The way Mars works through his grief is so visceral. I am in awe of La Sala's ability to paint a picture of genuine terror and tender camaraderie.

I was barely a chapter in before ordering the rest of their books and very much look forward to reading them in 2024.
