This was a really fun short story to read and the dynamic between the two friends, reminded me a bit like Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. I would like to read more of Tanizaki’s work and many other Japanese literature too.

I cannot wait for the next book but also I feel very unprepared for what could happen...

Will I ever not love a book by V E Schwab? Probably not.

I absolutely loved how the narrative of this story kept shifting between the different past of each character and the present. It was a refreshing way of telling a story. There were definitely vibes of Cowboy Bebop and X-Men running through the book, and Victor Vale reminded me a little bit like Hisoka and his obsession with his Chrollo. Although, there are completely different to one another as well.

I also loved Sydney and Mitch’s friendship shown throughout the book and Eli’s characteristics were really interesting to read as well. Cannot wait for Vengeful!

This was such a fun and light-hearted book to read compared to the book I finished beforehand. I absolutely loved Noah, despite how socially awkward he is! The amount of mistakes he made and how he tried to fix them were hilarious. I’ve already started the second one and cannot wait to see what it entails.

P.S. Noah’s Gran is the best.

Really fun read!! Can’t wait to see what the sequel has in store for us!

So this book was really addictive. I would recommend. I really like Amy and I'm glad romance isn't really featured in this book but I really want her and Nox to be together and I'm glad The Wizard is in this but the blurb gave away what she would find out at the end. Also the Tinman is my favourite character in the original and I pitied him in this book more than the Lion and the Scarecrow. Annoyingly, I want to read the next book straight away but I have so many other books to read. Also Amy isn't like Katniss or Tris and it's crazy what stories you can create with an already existing world.
