a not-so-friendly reminder that dazai abused akutagawa and that the former is NOT the perfect man many people make him out to be. that being said, akutagawa has also abused his subordinates (namely kyōka and higuchi) and him being a victim does NOT excuse his actions. while I do prefer akutagawa as a character (he's in my top 5 favourite bsd characters thus far, just from my knowledge of the anime and what I've read of the manga), neither he nor dazai are "perfect" men. they are both very messy and complicated characters and should not be reduced to a single character trait.

not to sound dramatic or anything but I would die for atsushi.

while having a pretty slow start, and despite being only one volume in, I can confidently say that the manga is (so far at least but I doubt my opinion will change) SIGNIFICANTLY better than the anime (which, as you can probably gather, I've already watched). I love the manga's atmosphere and I adore harukawa's art style! studio bones could never.
