The world of Magic for liars was fleshed out, and it was easy to learn what mad magic work. You experienced it through someone who was also new to the world.

Sadly it had a somewhat lackluster ending, and it felt disappointing.

This book starts slow. I found it hard to keep focused on it for the first 70% of the book, but once the world building was mostly over, I found that the rest of the story was very good. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

This book takes on hard topics, and details what it's like to be alone among peers. It talks about bullying, and sexual harassment, and doesn't shy away from the devastating truth that there will be just as many people saying it's the victims' fault for being harassed as there are people who believe them. I think it's important that these types of books be accessible to younger audiences so they can see the red flags before this sort of thing happens to them.

I like this book like I like many second books in series. I can’t wait for what is coming next in the series. And I liked how the characters began to change on their journeys. I’m looking forward to finishing the series.
