The Institute by Stephen King

I liked this a lot. It was very interesting, and I loved the sci-fi elements of it. This was my first Stephen King novel and I'm happy to say that I plan on reading the rest of his backlist. This novel was very fast-paced and action-packed, and I loved every second of it. There were some aspects I didn't like, such as the killing of one of my favorite characters, Avery, and the use of the n-word (which I found pointless). I loved the mc's (Luke) relationship with all of the other kids at the Institute, and though what happened to him was hella traumatic, I found it good that he got sent there. He made some more friends, found out more about himself, and overall experienced some benefits from such a traumatic experience. All in all, I liked this a lot and I plan on re-reading it sometime in the future. I definitely recommend this novel.
