this series started out great and then it went downhill.
I don't know ehy exactly, I know so many people love it but I just couldn't connect to the characters or the plot. it was way too heavy on the politics of the world and not enough fantasy really.
I think this was a good lesson for which tropes I would like in books.

so far this series just feels like a really long book that was randomly divided into 4 big chunks. like it doesn't end in a cliffhanger but just a random accourence in the book. it doesn't make me anxious to pick to next one up (though I will, but just because I am finishing series in 2025).

this just hit so close to heart. I related to much to the stuff Emily was feeling and cried so many times along with her.
this is definitely my favourite so far out of the series, I love their relationship so much, it felt so real and genuine.
I can't wait for the next book, which I have been waiting soooo long for (Maddie&James <3)
