Ocean Echoes by Blake Black

Mac just accepting her without question made my heart so happy. Tally, Tim, and Mac were such a good family for her. It would have been easy for it just to be Tally, but the fact that Tim and Mac took her in as their own and fought for her warmed my heart. Mac calling her Mouse??? Adorable and it shows that she got a place in his heart in book 1. And then when he knew what she needed and advocated for her??? He may be my favorite character overall. Tally and Tim are her friends, but Mac really felt like family.

"I love you too, but I love myself more." HELL YEAH GIRL.

The groveling was done right in this book with the boys finding their proper sea legs and figuring out how to show that their feelings are genuine.

Saylor wasn't dead

because he kept coming in and out of Sloan's life and he was a lil transparent.

Him coming back

was real wild, I was certain it was his time.

I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel about the ghost aspect but I really enjoyed this book. I think it helps that she's 30 and not like fucking 22. I'm very interested to see how her relationship with Saylor turns out and god I hope she puts those stupid boys through the WRINGER for the way they reacted. I love that Tally was willing to actually hear her out, cause it was such a lovely moment and also really emphasizes how out of pocket the Jones were.

Fletcher calling Thad "Daddy" the whole time, even to his face, really made me giggle. Fletcher's character was a great foil to Cash and Rick and he really did feel like the heart of the group and more than just comic relief. I also love how often the group called themselves a family cause they really are!!!

I liked how Vienna came to terms with the fact that her relationship with her father would never be the same and I thought the moment where he was pushing for Ratio and Dae because he had personally trained them was very dad-like of him.

The blue eyes thing that Fletcher mentioned is so real. Girl's got a type.

I love that Vienna saved herself, I think it would have been easy for the guys to jump in but it wouldn't have been as true to her character imo.

Cash's moment with Fletcher was very sweet and I liked Rick getting through to him about how he was treating Drew cause he was kind of getting on my nerves.

That ending, ayooooooooooo!!!

I love the budding friendship between Rick and Fletcher, I think it's so cute and I think it's done really well for their whole scenario. I'm very interested to see what Cash adds to the dynamic.

I was a little wary of Mer/Rick's character at the beginning but his POV helps and at his core, he is what I like for an FMC to have in a partner, if to the extreme. 23 is a little young, but can't win them all.

I was worried she was gonna be 18 but I'll take 24. I also like that Seb immediately went all-in for her cause I don't like when jealousy games are played tbh. Something about them being British gangsters is funny to me (it's the British part).
