This was this first Sanderson work that I had read, back in 2005 when it was released. I had recently graduated from high school at the time. I was disappointed by it and it almost put me off from reading anything else from Sanderson. Some years later, he would turn out to become very popular and enjoyed, which was quite a shock to me at the time.
