I was so shocked na nabasa ko itong book sakto sa National Women's Month. I never read book descriptions kaya na-surprise talaga ako. This book tackles about feminism and strong women. Taught me a lot of things about the pain and fear that young women will or had experienced. At first nahihirapan akong intindihin ung simula nung libro kasi I'm not used to reading fantasy books but I honestly enjoyed reading/listening to this book.

• This book is centered on tragedy, family and the essence of appreciating everything that's happening in your life. I related so much on the main character's regrets that she had after a death of a loved one and how I can still make up for it by loving my family.

• As an Asian daughter, it is really hard to reach my family's expectation on me. I continually have to please them by doing this or that that it would become exhausting and overwhelming.

• Grief. It is like a big rock in your heart that weighs you down. It is painful and tiring to cry and let it all out.

*Note: my thoughts is all over the place but please bear with me lol

this book is the reason why i love reading. i think this is the first book that i read from cover to cover. i first read this back when i was in elementary and i think this is the 4th time that i read the book.

it's very refreshing to read. reminds me of my childhood and how simple it is. how i don't have any problems as a child but now that i'm 18, i am bombarded by these problems that just would not leave.

heidi's pure soul is giving me hope in this cruel reality.
