One of the best books I've read in 2024. Brilliant & beautifully written. I adore Alba & Eridanys so, so much.

I'm not the world's most emotional reader, books don't normally make me cry. But the ending of Something Borrowed has me tearing up and sniffing in the way that only a truly perfect ending can. I love, love, love this book. The beginning was the perfect hook. I fell for Raff instantly & as soon as Stan was introduced I fell for him too.
As I'm not blind, I can't say whether the representation was good or not. But it felt like Lily Morton did her best to show Stan as a rounded character, not as a character solely defined by his blindness. He & Raff (and all of the characters, excepting the "villain" who was a bit cartoonish but that was fine) felt so real, like they could be walking around in London today. I loved all of them & really hope there will be more Confetti Hitched books ❤️

Couldn't stand the writing style. The FMC was supposed to be like 17 & her voice didn't feel like a 17 year old.

This was a very, very sweet story. Made me smile the whole time while reading it. My only issue is that the age gap between the FMC & her husband made me a bit uncomfortable (she's 16 & he's 37). If this had been a contemporary story instead of a historical/fantasy, I wouldn't have been able to take it :(

This is really a 6 star book. So, so good. I stayed up all night reading A Suitable Consort. Mattin is the sweetest & I love him to pieces <3 This book just made me so happy - so much casual queerness & gender equality & a beautiful romance. I love it too much for any coherence lol
Warrior of the Altaii by Robert Jordan

I can't do this anymore -_- This started off kind of fun; very typical "barbarian" fantasy. But the further I read the more this just felt very dated (I mean it was written in the late 1970s...) & I couldn't get past it & wasn't having fun. I wasn't in the mood for gratuitous rape threats, fantasy patriarchy, etc. etc. It was kind of neat seeing Jordan playing with ideas/tropes he would later use in the Wheel of Time, but not enough for me to spend more time reading Warrior of the Altaii. Might give it another try someday, if I have the spoons, but not right now.
