I liked this story.
At first i was irritated by the Raoden/Sarene/Hrathen chapter changes, but then i learned to love them.
I loved the good guys, loved hating the bad guys.
The progression made sense, everything made sense.
Some reviews or some sources online said that it was weaker than his other works.

It may be true.
But i honestly didn't detect it.

The magic system is interesting, and the fact that the story wasn't as focused on it (in the sense of it not being used in battle) is probably what leads some people to say that it's not as good as the other books, which may be true, but it more than compensates for that in all the MAGNIFICENT WORLDBUILDING and the intrigue.

But the characters drive the plot smoothly in my opinion.
The romance is beautiful as well.
And the political scheming, the manipulations, the inventive improvisations ...

SO GOOD !
This wasn't a good read, it was a great read!

Well, this story started slow but picks up extremely quickly as you go on.
So much stuff happened.
So much of the world introduced, and with very good world building.
Memorable, very well written characters.
I still don't completely understand the magic system, well i understood it enough to enjoy the first book and i think I'm not supposed to understand it anyhow.
Wild book !

Oh storms yes !

This book was absolutely amazing, such glorious storytelling, such glorious characters, such glorious rigor.

This book is so good omfg !

God i FUCKING LOVE The Way Of Kings.

But i LOVED this one EVEN MORE.

Mostly because it's a bit more explicit with the magic system and such.

The world building is still amazing.

The answers beg even more questions.

The protagonists are getting stronger, but so are the stakes.

God the catharsis that happens sometimes oh my god but then something else happens that reminds you that this *IS* a series and there are still some secrets creeping within and that, even though you as the reader wish it to be the case, not all is fine and dandy.

Amazing book, that is all!

Well thought out stuff.

I absolutely enjoyed and adored the fights, the solution Vin found, that Zane battle though.

THE ABSOLUTE DELICIOUSNESS OF HARD MAGIC SYSTEMS.

The Vin/Elend romance in this is much better and more founded than the first book (which is normal, given that most of the book is based on it)

We continue discovering new stuff about the world too.
The kandra, the koloss, the nobility, Terrismen ...
and the prophecies.

The well of ascension held some humongous amount of power, seeing what happened to it left me feeling disappointed but satisfied (what?) (i mean disappointed but not in a plot-related way, more like this was inevitable kind-of-way -AKA makes sense story-wise but still RIP-
Also i liked the Elend learning to be King part of the plot (low key was reminded of Elhokar, but Elend is not HALF as incompetent as Elhokar (not that hard; Elhokar is a dimwit))
Vin is BAD-ASS.

But the ending makes me wonder if she did not just screw up everything, wonder how that last development will be resolved, and cant wait to read the third book as i hear it is an extremely satisfying ending.

Still cant believe i've read this in 5 days.

This was a very satisfying read.

Very intriguing and very smart too, Agatha just tells you what to think and you think it.

You get suckered in and never think twice about it (well, except if you are particularly astute and/or try to solve the case as well) until she lays down the facts and you just cant help but appreciate the cleverness of the setup and execution.

I will not forget this novel for a while.

I liked the first part a lot.

Not so much the second part with the Church and the orgies and all that jazz.

I liked the book in general.

But i didn't care about the plot as much after settling Mike's sovereignty.

The characters are nice.

A bit sexist as well.

Jubal is a heck of a nice character.
