wtf?
i feel cheated
the first two books in this series were sooooo good, and they set up oliver and lola so well, their books basically write itself. so how tf did they mess it up so badly😭
one think i’ve noticed that’s a consistent issue throughout every christina lauren book i’ve read was that the pacing was always a bit off. in this book it was a lot off. it was just so unsettling idk. dnf unfortunately :/

oh my god

oh my GOD

i have no words. this was just a little bit too much for me idk. but like in the best way. i’m not even crying, i’m so overwhelmed by emotion.

i think the fact that i relate very heavily to one of the plots in this book between two characters (iykyk), it hits that much harder.

absolutely incredible. i have no words.

i feel SO conflicted

okay so

the first 150 pages?? incredible. i was giggling, smiling, and having sooo much fun.

and then everything moved so fast. and i mean they moved from hating each other to falling into bed in one chapter. ONE. it was so jarring i thought i missed like 100 pages by mistake. and then they were all lovey dovey, like immediately after.

my theory is that the authors had a word count limit, and they spent half of it on the enemies bit, they didn’t have enough to write a good falling in love but while also fitting in the sub plots of her sister and dane, and also her whole job thing, AND the life changing personality realization.

like. please. just make the book longer??

idk i still enjoyed it, and i found myself actually liking the sub plots more than the romance near the end. that’s how you know it wasn’t great.

it all just feels so… out of pace yknow?

i’m so upset cuz i’d been looking forward to this book for years, and now i’ve finally read it im disappointed.

also what was the decision about closed door?? like? it was so strange it wasn’t fade to black but it also wasn’t open door, it was some weird in between purgatory situation that made me so confused and frustrated, like we were building up to something only to find nothing? and it can’t be cuz the book had to be YA, cuz there’s so much NA content in here like why not just full send it? or do the opposite and commit to the romance and not the sex? idk man some very very strange choices were made here.

but i guess i enjoyed it? i was invested in the story line and wanted to finish the book to see what happened, so i guess that’s a good sign. overall, i think i’m just a little salty that it wasn’t everything i wanted it to be…
