Currently re-reading as I got to book 6 last year and can’t remember what happens. This time around so much more made sense to me. There were so many hints at what was to come that just went over my head with the first read. Slow paced but setting the story for the next few books.

This was headed for a 5* book. I loved the world building and the strong female characters. However it felt too rushed in places, especially the last part. I’d of loved for it to have gone into more details about the journeys so feel it could have been split into two different books. Overall I did enjoy it though. I do wish there were more dragons though.

I can’t believe this is a debut novel. The way she describes things made me feel like I was there. Amazing for the flowers, insects etc.. not so good with that one particular rape scene.

Loved the witchy vibes although don’t buy it if you want fantasy as this is more an historical fiction.

I loved reading about Danny again. I think I actually preferred this to the shining and I loved the shining too.

Only read this if you’re ready to ugly cry.
