As anthologies typically go, it's hard to come up with a fair rating, because there is a pretty big variation in exactly how impactful a lot of these shorts were for me, but overall, it is a solid collection that fans will enjoy. If nothing else, there are some absolutely gorgeous covers to collect!

This is a kind of speed run through Superman's origins, and meant to be a great jumping on point for new readers, as well as a fun reimagining for fans alike. This rating would've been higher, except the pacing could have been worked out better between the first and second half of the book, as well as the fact that I wanted to see some of the beloved side-characters and their relationship with Clark/Superman more. I also wasn’t a big fan of Lex’s origin or his character growth necessarily; I wish this was set up as a three act storyline, to expand a bit more on certain elements. This is still a pretty solid, self-contained Superman story, though.

Extremely weak conclusion: it felt very rushed, and there was little closure. Still did not enjoy the characters, or the confusing colors.

I'm not invested in the characters, and the colors feel rushed and disconnected to the art.

The colors see an improvement in this issue, I think, largely because the palette is more limited and it immensely adds a lot of dynamic contrast and lighting. Although, I still don't enjoy the characters.

The action picks up in this issue, and advances nicely, but still not a fan of the art/colors.

I don't like the artwork - it's too muddied and I don't like the color choices- and the characters are, so far, irritating and lack depth, but the premise is interesting, and this miniseries is free for Amazon Prime members, so I will see where it goes.

This is the final issue of a bloody thrilling horror miniseries, and it absolutely pays off! The team accomplishes creating a fulfilling lore and history for their creature, and the characters were compelling enough to follow into any scenario that they were thrown into. Not to mention, the art is rendered with such a passion for its required noir/horror elements, and the nostalgic coloring exemplified the themes and genre perfectly.
