OMG, this book was so cookie-cake sweet.

First of all, the contemporary worldbuilding was absolutely fantastic. One of the other books I'm reading right now is giving very much white room syndrome, so it was awesome to read Don't Read The Comments' very "lived-in" world.

The romance between Divya & Aaron was super cute, even if sometimes Div felt very... distant? IDK how to put it, but basically, if I was Aaron, NO WAY would I ever believe this girl was actually into me. In that sense, I did enjoy Aaron's POV chapters a lot more haha. Still, this isn't to say the romance is weak or anything- only their purely virtual (like texting) convos felt a bit off.

The gaming world is something that is very, very unknown to me, but I really enjoyed reading about it in this book! Reclaim The Sun is TOTALLY a game that I would want to play (even if I definitely don't have enough power in my laptop for it LMAO), and I really appreciated how the author made it easy to understand this whole lifestyle!

My only real problems with this book is how Divya & Rebekah's struggles with misogny/racism and their subsequent assaults were written really strangely? I don't know how to phrase it, but some stuff just felt overblown, or not impactful enough... this is mostly with the misogny parts. My best guess is this is just cos the author is a white dude, so you don't really have that #OwnVoices perspective. Basically, don't read this book looking for the perfect representation of gamer girls fighting against trolls.

With all of that said, I really recommend this book if you're looking for a sweet romance with a dash of video games!

i forgot why i loved this book so much and now i have remembered.... AAAAAAAAAAAA <3333
