Ravaged soul absolutely did a great job at ravaging my heart at least. Ember just cannot get a break. I will always rave about the headstrong strength of some fmcs, but ember is already came to us extremely strong maybe too much. This book did an amazing job at showing her breaking down her stone walls a bit and become softer with her guys and redirecting that strength she needed to survive on the important things. The guys all become more 3 dimensional as we are introduced to their demons and broken pieces. I was on the edge of my seat almost the whole book between and suspense and the spice. I can’t wait for the next one!

J. Rose has once again delivered an amazing, twisted, nail biting experience! I absolutely love this whole entire world she has created since Blackwood Institute. This story was so good. I need the final book to this series like now! There is no way you can leave me hanging like that! Haha! I absolutely no doubt highly recommend! I would start from Blackwood and work your way through the world though!

OMG. It just keeps getting better and better! I always brace myself for the middle book of a trilogy to be the weakest link—but damn, J. Rose shook that theory up like a snowglobe and proved me so wrong. This one delivered in all the best, most unexpected ways.

Ravaged Soul picked up right where Fractured Future left off—and then exploded the stakes in every direction. I devoured this book. Unputdownable doesn’t even begin to cover it. J. Rose isn’t just continuing a story—she’s sharpening every emotion. Turning up the heat to 10. And dragging us deeper into the chaos that is Ember and her men.

J. Rose’s character development is impeccable. Ember is still fire-forged and feral, but we start to see more of her inner unraveling, like a quiet ache behind the rage. And the guys? Warner, Hyland, Axel, Blaine... each one grows more complicated and more entangled with her, their devotion just as intense as their jealousy. The tension is delicious and the heat between them finally boils over in a way that felt gritty, emotional, and earned.

This book is darker and dirtier. Somehow, it’s even more emotionally layered than the first, and Fractured Future did not pull any punches! The mission to dismantle Gael’s empire drives the external plot, but the real war is internal: loyalty, grief, guilt, want. Every interaction—whether it’s a stolen kiss or a fractured moment of honesty—feels like it could snap at any second. That energy kept me clinging to every page.

J. Rose has me wrapped around her finger with every twist, every look, every line of dialogue. She’s a master of pacing—letting the quiet moments breathe just long enough before plunging you into the next hit of adrenaline, heartbreak, or steam. And that cliffhanger? Yeah. I screamed. (And immediately started counting down to book three.) This may sound dramatic but I’m truly not sure how much longer I’m going to be able to wait for the next installment because my heart can’t take it!

Bottom line: If book one had you hooked, Ravaged Soul will wreck you in the most satisfying way. It's intense, emotional, spicy, and endlessly addictive. J. Rose is out here redefining what it means to raise the stakes—and I am absolutely feral for the finale of this trilogy.

Ravaged Soul is the 2nd book of Ember’s story and follows her journey trying to avenge her past, while surviving in the present. She is having flare ups from her diagnosis, but her group of guys, Warner, Hyland, Axel, and Blaine, are struggling amongst each other. Ember needs her teammates together. Despite everything, I find myself wanting to know more about Gunnar. Ember is such a strong FMC: not only does she have external struggles, her inner pain is its own battle. I love that she puts up such an intense fight. There are many dark moments in this story, so please check the trigger warning. Axel somehow made me chuckle in the ending. After an interesting cliffhanger, Ember’s story will conclude in the next book, although I hope there will be more coming in this universe.

“God, she is my fatal weakness. Everything about Ember invites me to get on my knees and give her whatever the hell she wants or needs to endure this mess.”

I’m speechless after reading Ravaged Soul. This book had so many plot twists and secrets that I was in deep to get all the answers. J Rose knows how to get you investigated in her characters and stories with her writing. The way Ember and the guys progressed with their relationships made for some spicy scenes. It took Ember finally taking charge for the guys to get their heads out of their butts, made for some good reading with their challenges and spice. The cliffhanger at the end leaves you with more questions on what’s going to happen next.

Ravaged Soul is the 2nd book in the Anaconda Tales trilogy. This dark, why choose tale gave us an intense plot, with non stop action,  suspense, fun banter, undeniable chemistry and sizzling spice.

The character development  and the dynamics of each relationship between Ember and her four captivating men was so well done. I loved how their bonds deepened and they all start to find their way and challenge their boundaries.

This book is a full-throttle emotional rollercoaster, packed with jaw-dropping twists. And after that cliff-hanger ending - book three can’t come soon enough. If you're a fan of dark romance, this one’s a must-read.

The Anaconda Tales is quickly turning into an action romance and honestly I am here for it: explosions, hitmen, bullets flying. My heart is racing and not just because of the spicy scenes! J Rose has always done an amazing job of exploring the dark parts of the human mind with depression, PTSD, and many other mental illness issues in all of her books. Tackling chronic illness in this series is a work of art.

Emory's struggles in this story feel very real. I connect with her character on multiple levels. She's trying to be strong but also accept her limitations. She's trying to let others take care of her, to be a family but also be independent and not feel controlled.

The men are given small moments to let their personalities shine through. I do wish their moments were larger but honestly that's a small complaint.

J. Rose seriously knows how to keep you on edge, but of course in the best way. Ravaged Soul picks up right where Fractured Future left off, so definitely make sure you’ve read book one to really understand Ember’s journey. And trust me, it’s one worth following. She’s still one of my favorite FMCs and my heart broke for her in this one. She was carrying so much guilt over something completely out of her control, and watching her struggle to give herself the grace she deserves just hit me hard.

I know I say this a lot, but one of the things I genuinely love about why choose romances is getting to see how each connection builds and how those bonds deepen. Ember gets to see these guys in ways no one else ever has — and I love that for her. They’re all so fiercely protective of her, but what they haven’t realized is that she’s more than capable of protecting herself, too. The Anaconda Team still has some things to work through, but I’m so excited (and maybe a little nervous) to see where this goes next.
