Now that we won't be getting a Dani O'Malley trilogy after all, I'm quite disappointed. I didn't know I could get so invested with Dani as the narrator so much. I hated her in the other books. HATED. HER. But now..

Okay so I'm just gonna say this... I fecking hate it that KMM had to completely disregard the originally planned trilogy. That's just bull-fecking crikey! I love Mac & Barrons and all but come on, I love Dani now and I'm pretty sure anyone would love her as soon as they get to read Iced. Dude. It's impossible not to! I really wish there could still be another Dani O'Malley book - minus the creepy parts, of course *coughs* CHRISTIAN *coughs*. Seriously, I'm still grossed out by his obsession with Dani. Ryodan's too but then I'd think of Christian again then I just shudder a hundred times more. Gross. Don't care if Dani's gonna be about 17-19 years old in Burned but she cannot end up with Christian. NO.

It's not even a day yet and I already miss the Mega. Now I can't get all her O'Malleyisms out of my head. I need my Dani fix like the Mega needs her candy bars. Dude.

I liked this book, but I have a very hard time with Dani. If Ryodan wasn't in this book, I'm pretty sure I would've only given this 2.5 stars. I'm hoping in the next books that Dani grows up a bit. She is so immature sometimes I want to reach into the book and slap her! I love that we learn more about Dancer, so far I REALLY like his character. And I did like the book enough to continue reading the series. We'll see where it goes.....

It was "OK" is all I can muster about this book. I definitely won't be moving on with the series.

There was no need to continue this series. Dani was a horrible character and I didn’t want to read this book for the longest time. But I heard people say that it got better so when I didn’t bring a book, I read this.

First of all, dani is fourteen and there are way older characters talking about fucking her. It’s not that everyone in the book was okay with this, but still, the way it was described disgusted me. It was uncomfortable and badly executed.
I just have to add, It is revealed that Dani was raped as a kid, once and it gets sort of ignored for the rest of the book. A victim of rape, talking about having sex a lot when she first got written in the series. This gets explained but badly and I feel like it was just utter bullshit. I get that there are creepy men thirsting after young girls. But Christian, one of the only good characters in the original series gets screwed over big time. Again, this is also explained and I get how, but just how much did KMM want to screw up her original work?

Dani is one of those annoying main characters. She is given a specific way of talking, which annoyed me when she was a side character. Now as a main character, it is really repelling at the beginning. I started this book first in early 2020, but had to start over in 2021. She keeps on saying dude and Feck and I get it, it makes it easy to see into her mind and get into her character. But it was so annoying.

The entire book is just some new mystery. This plot is unclear and super boring. I hated it. The first books had such a good story line. With mysteries that slowly get explained over 5 books. This book was all but that. I do not recommend this book. I do however still recommend the first five books. And just do as I did. Ignore Dani in every scene she’s in.

I had no big expections for this book since everyone seems to hate it. Well i had a great Time reading this! I must say i rather Mac for FMC but Dani is very Nice too, childish and smart and stubborn. I think She may be too « superwoman » for my taste but still a good character. People are also telling this book to be like « pedo » since Dani is young and MMCs are weirdly into her but i think its reallllly not that bad. Like Ryodan is kind of « fatherish » in this book and is appropriate (in his way), Dancer is seventeen soooo theres no problem here and finally Christian is fucked up but he is turning into an unseelie prince. OFF COURSE he acts awkwardly I guess with all his contractions. So its my least favorite of this series for me so far, but still enjoyed it very much ! I really love KMM writing its easy going and lots of action.

I actually didn't mind this book, I like Ryodan. But I missed Barrons. And Mac, but mostly Barrons. And the ending makes me want this next book even more.

I am so conflicted.

On one hand, I desperately wanted to love this book. I wanted to enjoy reading from a new POV. I wanted to get to know Dani. I wanted to love Ryoden as much as I loved Barrons.

On the other hand, there’s some really weird stuff going on here that I just don’t know how to like.

Let’s just say from the gitgo, Dani is 14. It is not okay for any MAN to be lusting after her. Ryoden’s attention I could live with. He has a bit more...decorum when it comes to his obvious...attraction—see I can’t even write this without cringing—for Dani. Christian, however, has his character completely butchered in this book by turning him into some creep pedophile, woman killer. I don’t understand what Moning was thinking or what she was planing on doing...

Most of the characters in this book acted so out of character based off the past books that I was utterly frustrated at some times to the point of growling at the book. Ryoden makes no sense in this book. Christian is a creep. Dani is beyond annoying, and yeah again she’s 14, but after about the sixth stupid decision the girl makes I could barely stand it anymore.

The plot...well there was sort of one...I think. I believe it’s leading up to a bigger plot in the next couple books? Probably. Hopefully.

Jo is the absolute worst character ever.

I’m realizing that all of the issues in this book could have easily been solved if Dani was stuck in a Silver for 5 years or something. I realize THATS the book I wanted to love so much, an older more mature Dani. Obviously, that’s what ends up happening in the future, but it should have been done before this book.

Either way, I liked the last 100 or so pages. So at least it ended on a good note with me.
