Hour of the Witch

The context and plot was what intrigued me but the book felt like it was dragging along.

It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. I think if I wasn't listening to the audio book I would have DNFd it though.

I really enjoyed this book, even though the ending was a bit cheesy. I love historical fiction, but haven't read much in this time. This felt historically accurate to the craziness of the witch hunt and how it could spiral. It did take some getting used to to read the way they spoke to each other (thou, thine,  dost, etc).

Imagine The Scarlet Letter mixed with The Handmaid's Tale and The Crucible. I could not put this book down for a second. I highly recommend the audiobook as the narrator's captured the feel of puritanical America incredibly well. The book will surprise you.
