I don’t know y’all… what were we going through in 2007?

Read it in 2 days, didn't really care for Bella, she whined too much.

in the words of my pre-teen self that wrote in the front of this book ‘Twilight :O so amazing whoop dee doo!’ my favorite form of nostalgia. Jasper should have more lines. ‘SAY IT! OUT LOUD!’ should be in writing. still waiting for my vampire boyfriend to come out of hiding after all these years. ok bye gonna go watch the movie for the second time this week <3

First time I’ve read this book since I was in junior high school and I am happy to say it brought me just as much joy and entertainment all these years later! To this day, Twilight is the only book I ever stayed up all night reading and that feeling of giddiness with the ridiculous characters and swoon-worthy Edward was still there this time.

I forgot how hard the author tried to make Bella the most clumsy, awkward person ever - to the point where she can’t even walk around without causing a major incident for herself. BUT of course all the boys in the school fall in love with her from day dot.

I was surprised at how brief the final confrontation was - definitely felt more impactful as a child. This time around it felt much more like a drop in the bucket vs. the grand finale.

Is this a literary masterpiece? No, but it sure made an impact on the world!

Is it wrong that I love it so much? I've become a fan of the movies as I grew older because I learned to enjoy the silliness of it all, the bad puns, the 'Bella, where the hell have you been loca?' and overall the 2012 nostalgia.
This is the first time I've read the books despite having been the Harry Potter-Percy Jacskson-The Hunger Games obsessive reader as a teen and I've honestly enjoyed it. I couldn't find anything wrong with it besides Bella's fashion sense. It was really nice getting to know the characters more closely and I found out that Bella is not that annoying and bland in the books nor is Edward that much of an emo.
Anyway, it's a light read that made me want to go back to my teenage years. I don't think the Twilight series deserves the hate it gets, because honestly not everything needs to be that serious.
