I don't understand why this book is so well-received. The author admits it started as a Quora post (literally a list) that he expanded into a book. I think he was paid by the word because GOOD LORD that man can talk circles around useless subjects and call it a life hack. Alright 12 rules list, waste of time book.

Insights are actionable and well grounded. Writing style is insightful, raw, and intimate.

A rare non-fiction "self help" book that doesn't need to repeat itself a dozen times to fill the pages.

I'm eager to re-read.

"It is because we are born human that we are guaranteed a good dose of suffering." So very true, Peterson. Unfortunately, listening to your various interviews and reading your sexist book was just too much for me and did, in fact, induce suffering. DNF around 15%.

Fairly basic self-help advice dressed up with a lot of nonsense, quite frankly.

Yeah, the concept and the “rules” are interesting. Everything else is hot garbage. Condescending rubbish from start to finish.
