The chapter with the crustaceans was ok, sadly it went downhill from there. I stopped at about half way through for a break as it was too grating, and don't have the will to continue. I don't think I agree with much of what the author has to say.

DNF: I can't pinpoint what exactly caused me to stop listening to the audiobook, but there were several times where my brain pinged that something wasn't right. That combined with some of the things he's said IRL made me uninterested in his thoughts and opinions on how to live my life.

challenging informative

  • Recommended and lent to me by Kevin Keys
  • Honestly an enjoyable read. I agreed with all of the rules and I think this would be a good book to own
  • Well-written, entertaining, and educating

So, I always raise an eyebrow, and almost never read books with an arbitrary number on the title. Books like: 21 Steps to this, or 7 Pillars to that. This gem however is an exception!

It was so good, in so many ways.

It re-affirmed some of my already held beliefs, something we all need every once in a while, Sunday Mass anybody? Most importantly though, it challenged many of my preconceptions and made me reconsider some of deeply held notions, a feat not so easy, if I may say so myself.

Can safely recommend this to anyone, especially those like me, travelling on a perilous nihilistic path.

Good tips for living a better life. ideas taken from the greatest minds. At the moment i don't completely agree with everything in this book. But things will always change...

I would give this book a 6.5/10. Jordan Peterson is an incredible thinker and writer who presents some brilliant ideas throughout this book. He dives into issues of personal character and growth, morality, duty, and more. I gave it a slightly lower rating because I felt that he could have been a little more succinct with some of his points in addition to worldview differences. I disagree with the way that he views the Bible, but its not so much that I mind the disagreement as much as lack of logical grounding for some of his arguments. It seems as though he is some kind of biblical agnostic, but he views the majority of scripture as metaphorical, yet still uses it for many of his arguments. When it comes to morality and virtue, I was just confused as to how or what he was grounding his beliefs in.
medium-paced

Challenging, disturbing and profound. Caustic and laugh out loud funny on occasion; full of truisms and anecdotes. Long winded but mostly relevant.
