I liked the beginning.  It started off strong but it seemed to start to drag out towards the end. Van helsing dialec  was weird too. I don't know if it was the writing but it seemed to get worse

Gonna review this properly any day, but I just have to say the 1931 film starring Bela Lugosi is ✨gold✨ and can't ever get tired of watching it

🎧listened as an audiobook

Wow. This was really long. I forgot what it was like to read a novel that had a proper beginning, middle, and end.

The second half was more interesting, but the pace overall was quite slow. The scariest I found this was when I read it late at night on a walk and fog rolled in. Proper spooky. Otherwise it was tame.

I also didn’t realize Van Helping was a doctor and not a hunter. Huh the things you learn wrong through osmosis.

I’m glad to have read it. But would only recommend if you like the classics.
