You know, I did like this one. It's a mix of every successful trope used in Christie novels prior.
The secret bigamy, the culprit commissions Poirot, the false corpse,
among others. It's a Frankenstein of her works, so identifiable as Christie, and such an enjoyable read.

I will say that Poirot's melodrama felt ill-paced at times, but his rare
anger, resorting to intimidation, and moral disagreement
was so refreshing. It's not one I'd recommend as a first read for Poirot, but it's a treat for those reading in sequence!

Book thirty-four in my Agatha Christie read through in (American) publication order.

I can't explain why a murder in a dentist's office seems exotic and intriguing, but I suppose just on sheer novelty of having never read it before, the setting did add a bit of excitement. Clever resolution as well.

I really enjoyed this one. As always, Agatha Christie's writing is easy and enjoyable, and I loved the twists throughout. A great read.

This was an outlier in my experience with Christies novels. The Murder mystery was extremely meandering and it was hard to see what the motive even was or where they linked. I think what also made it feel that way was, at least in my opinion the characters seemed held at a distance, we never really got to know any of them so we could not conceive of who had done it or why.

One, Two, Buckle my Shoe is an engaging, thrilling, and thought-provoking mystery that keeps you guessing until the very end. As the story was nearing it’s close, I still had no idea who the murderer was, or how the clues presented thus far came together. The revelations in the penultimate chapter were rather confusing, and I found myself reading over them more than once. Nevertheless, it was all put together very cleverly by Christie and made for a gripping read.
