Chời ơi, đoạn mở đầu thì lôi cuốn mà sao đoạn giữa cứ lộn xộn vậy trời. Rối rắm pha thêm chút chính trị nữa.

Không đánh giá cao nha

In this book, written along the lines of the nursery rhyme the title alludes to, Hercule Poirot must go to the dentist. What an inconvenience. Later that same day he finds out his dentist committed suicide shortly after his appointment. Impossible, Poirot thinks. And, of course, Hercule Poirot is correct. It was impossible. The man was murdered. But how and more importantly why? The people that visited the dentist that day are comprised of an intriguing cast of characters, some hold national importance while others are just ordinary people living their days. Who, out of all of them, would want to kill a dentist? In true Hercule Poirot fashion, he fixates on one detail that nobody else is paying attention to. A shoe buckle. He cannot let the idea of it go, he cannot disregard its appearance in the cast of characters, it means something but what? As Poirot doggedly pursues the meaning behind the shoe buckle alongside the murder of the dentist, what comes to light is a scheme far more complex than someone who held a grudge against one man.

Unsurprisingly, I enjoyed this Poirot mystery. I say unsurprisingly because Christie is very rarely a miss in my humble opinion. There are, from time to time, titles of hers I do not care for but for the most part the Queen can do no wrong.

3/5. Pretty solid. Nothing too special about this one, but I definitely do prefer when Hugh Fraser narrates vs. David Suchet.
