It was okay

I had a hard time keeping interest in this story. It was not until the end that it started getting interesting. I just did not feel the chemistry between Tasha and Grant until the end. Tasha was afraid of having her heart broken again and Grant was so into taking care of his siblings and being there for them, he did not realize how miserable he was being a CFO. He had no qualms about revealing his feelings to Tasha whom he knew would be leaving after she was sure her bestie was okay with Grant's brother. I don't like how the story ended. It was more or less a "Happy for now" ending. I wanted more of a definitive HEA for them. I feel cheated.

This book was amazing. Sexy as hell and also full of feelings. I love how Melissa Blue makes these amazing characters who feel like people I super want to be friends/found family with.

I just need to say thank you for Charming Scottish Bastard and the hope it gave me this interminable past week. I just finished and your author's note has me all weepy and in my feelings.

Melissa Blue is the master at building sexual tension between her bartender/digital artist and the charming CFO who is helping his brother with his bar. Tasha moves to Glasgow to work at the bar and to help her best friend, the friend who is supposed to marry the brother of the titular Scot. I have only read the first book in this series and there are a lot of characters, so it did take me a minute to fully sink in (and now I need to read the rest) but this can standalone if needed.

For real, gave me all the squirmy pants feelings I love, plus explored family, found and otherwise, and the consequences of following your heart.

Bravo! Great read. Must buy for 2020.

CW: drinking, family tension.

I enjoyed Grant and Tasha's book but I only realized after I started that i didnt read Mia's book! Even so I was able to read this one and not be lost. There's mention of how Mia and Kincaid met and Grant's brother and his fiance are quite present in this one, but I don't think they take away from Grant and Tasha's budding romance.

I liked how Grant wasn't afraid to speak his mind and bare his feelings, and the love for his family totally shone through.

I was glad to see a Baird appearance because I remember him from the previous Scots books. Such a meddler at times heheh. Tasha got a little taste of it and their bond was really sweet.

Tasha and Grant together were steamyyyy, and with most Melissa Blue books the sexy times were hot hot hot.

Now, i'm hoping we get an Isla book because Grant's sister shows up towards the end and something is going on with her, so I'm intrigued and hoping this is a set up for her own book.

This book does a phenomenal job subverting toxic masculinity and playing with the trope of the male love interest. Such vulnerability is hard to find especially in romance novels. I loved it.
