So glad I didn’t know Pablo Neruda existed when I was 17.

I was reading this at the restaurant that I worked at and one of the waitresses saw the title, laughed, and said "just in case 20 Love Poems isn't enticing enough, we also threw in a Song of Despair," lol

"What does it matter that my love could not keep her. The night is starry and she is not with me." Tonight I can write.
"Cemetery of kisses, there is still fire in your tombs, still the fruited boughs burn, pecked at by birds." Song of despair

to love is to have breathed in the song of the earth, to hear her call and to envelope into her bosom. to lost is to have the tides receded, revealing broken shells and things long forgotten; to be stripped of voice, sore and overused; and to fall into the endless marine abyss.

Why won't anybody talk about me this way .

tbh it was cute but the 20th poem (i think thats the one) made me feel some stuff lol

Dos amantes dichosos no tienen fin ni muerte,
nacen y mueren muchas veces mientras viven,
tienen la eternidad de la naturaleza.

.
Si no hubiese escrito una monografía de seis páginas sobre Neruda habría escrito algo acá. So yeap, eso.

Necesito que alguien me ame como Neruda amó a quien le escribió el poema 20
