Every Mary Roach book I read is better than the last

I couldn't finish reading it because it made me want to vomit constantly.

It was interesting and informative, and the humor helped with the sometimes gross subject matter. I probably should have read this in print because I doubt I will retain much of audiobook.

A fascinating, funny, and at times "eww" overview of the human digestion system.  I appreciated Roach's storytelling and quirky sense of humor.

I must be getting crotchety in my old age. I was unimpressed with this book, and I was pretty clear on what I should expect, too, have read Stiff, Bonk, and Spook. While Roach's tone was "comedic," I found that it bordered more on the "snarky" and "annoying" realm of comedy. I learned some in this book, but it wasn't as eye opening or nearly as cohesive as her other books.

My wife and I made this wonderful choice for a book to listen to on the road between cities visiting families at Thanksgiving. Comedic and not at all science-y, you'll learn, you'll laugh, you'll be slightly grossed out occasionally (but only occasionally), and you will generally have a good time with this quick read (or listen). If you've ever wondered whether dog food is as nutritious as people food, or whether Elvis died of constipation, or why the stomach doesn't digest itself, take this book on your next road trip!
