Okay, I know folks LOOOOVED this book and Amara and Dante as a couple, but they just weren’t my favorite. Don’t get me wrong, the plot is absolutely plotting (as expected from RuNyx!), but this book didn’t land the same way The Predator or The Reaper did for me.

Amara and Dante’s dynamic had some great moments. The obsessive energy Dante brings is chef’s kiss, but Amara felt like she regressed as a character. She started off strong in earlier books, finding her footing despite her trauma, but here? She felt meek and timid, and I missed the strength she showed in The Predator and The Reaper. Maybe RuNyx was trying to make a point in this book? Humanize her some? I dunno - I just needed the Amara from the other books back.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sooooo miscommunication trope. OMG, I HAAAATE it. I get that it adds tension, but here it just frustrated me. That said, there were definitely some plot twists that had me clutching my pearls — again, Runyx always has me *gasp* lol.

I can say positively that this plot is absolutely delivering. I’m honestly terrified of how this is going to finish. It’s so hard to have this much plot and then end the series in a way that satisfies everyone—but fingers crossed!

On to the next one... because yes, I’m totally binging the series now.

[4/5⭐️]

I think this series is starting to become a top favorite of mine. So many secrets so much thriller and drama. I LOVE it. I loveddd hearing Amara’s POV and her character development. Truly a ✨queen✨ and a ✨baddie✨. Also enjoyed the slow burn between Amara and Dante..the spicy scenes the way everything was built for them. Just perfect. Dante being Dante in his sarcastic yet powerful self. These two couldn’t have been more perfect for each other.

I did find some of the quotes a little cringy throughout the book but that’s just my own personal opinion LOL
A man calling a women queen like 10x I just can’t or king LOL..the pet name calling could of just been “baby” and call it a day.

Anyway…I can’t wait to see what is up for the next couple books!

I finally have returned to the world of the Dark Verse with this one and man oh man, it did not disappoint. Now this book is almost as messed up as the previous books was. The surprise that we encounter with finding out more about Dante and Amara's past was not what I expected. Then to later find out who the person behind all of this was....oh my goodness. I was a little shocked. Then Amara, decided to show us that she can channel all that darkness and be just as dark as her man Dante. I was shocked by that too. Getting to see Tristan's backstory through the eyes of these two characters was also a very nice plus. I did almost shed a tear when we saw Dante's history. Even though we knew some of it from Tristan's side, it was still pretty sad the way his father treated him and his brother. I almost had a theory at one point about Damien but luckily that ended up being proven wrong because I know that it would have messed up poor Dante if that was the case. I really enjoyed seeing these two manage to keep their relationship and love going for as long as they did. Though there is definitely a lot more triggering things that happen in this book. It definitely earned the name of the series with this one!
This book definitely had some great spicy scenes! Full 4 out 5 for me. They had some years where they weren't together but they made the most of the time that they did have. Overall, I enjoyed getting to see Dante and Amara's story. It was truly a beautiful experience, even though it was quite dark at times. I will say, for some reason, I didn't see that ending happening. I definitely thought that character was going to make an appearance in a later book as like...."oh no, I was coerced into doing what I did". Nope. They are definitely gone. And good riddance. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the first 2 books in this series as well as anyone who likes dark romance. Just note that this book is very heavy on the triggers. Like there are multiple. Please check them before you jump into this book if you have any.

Had soooo much potential but DNFed at 66% bc it had a surprise pregnancy and I refuse to deal with that

I HAVE NEVER, IN ALL MY YEARS OF LIVING, GONE THROUGH A BOOK THIS FAST!!! Did it affect my work and hindered me from doing day to life activities?? Yes. Did I ditch my social life in order to read it? Yes. Was it worth it? ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY YES. 10000% YES.

I have no idea what the author puts in these books but this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I literally wished the concept of sleep didn't exist and wanted to tape my eyelids open just so I can finish it.

DO NOT PICK THIS UP IF YOU HAVE OBLIGATIONS!!! You'll be addicted. I can't wait to start book four of the series and meet Daddy Alpha. Although, I doubt anyone will EVER EVER compete with Daddy Dante "The Wall" Maroni...
