This book takes you on an adventure. There were a few times I felt like the story could hurry up a bit, but overall this was a great tale of self discovery, women supporting women and witches!

I couldn't tell if I was in a reading slump or this book was just a very slow start, but I struggled through the first third over several days and then read the last two-thirds in one go straight through. The premise is fascinating and the connection to history (some Indigenous and some Salem witch trials) was well integrated as was the meta patriarchy and capitalism and care and community discussions.

I tried to love this, I wanted to love this. I just didn’t stay captivated, and when my audiobook automatically returned itself I didn’t chase down a renewal to finish it. The reader was excellent. The story seemed fun. Maybe it was a me problem.

I reallie enjoyed this. Its got suspense without making me too nervous to go on. It feels a little American Gods also.... lots of good things in this book
