“The squad are together”…? Really? None of them have any semblance of a dynamic. The squad was never a thing. Just three random couples + Aled and they don’t have a relationship with each other either. I enjoy Tao as he has a real character with real flaws and demonstrates an issue you don’t frequently see in outing narratives (also the panelling work for him is great). I like this view on outing stories: no one’s a villain most of the time. It just happens. Although Aled telling them about it so out of the blue like surely this would have happened before? The details of Charlie being bullied are so vague and the timeline doesn’t even line up.
The brother is as cartoonishly evil as the rest of the villains in the story which is strange since he’s related to our protagonist in such a personal way? The biphobia is so on the nose just like the other homophobia in the series and nick doesn’t respond to anything other than with “I’m bi

Obviously a 5 star rating! I had read books 1 and 2 before I watched the show, and reading book 3 after watching them in Paris already I'm just blown away by how in line it was! Fantastic, on both fronts! Can't wait to read/watch more. Truly heartwarming and lovely.
every time i think this series can’t get better, IT GETS BETTER

Not gonna lie. Nick and Charlie is definitely my favorite couple of 2022. In this volume, their relationship is still lil bit rough (about coming out and stuff) but it's fun, sweet and cute at the same time. I can't stop reading it because it's toooooo adorable. Wholesomeness. My heart is full. My heart is for Nick and Charlie.
Also, they have school trip to Paris. Double zing wholesomeness. I love it! I love it!
Beware, there some triggering issues in this book, such as eating disorder and suicidal. Might you want to take it as your warning in advance.
