Hand of the Devils consists of three Lord John short stories. The Hellfire Club was probably my favorite of the three, followed by The Succubus. The Haunted Soldier was decent, but not my favorite. Overall, I enjoyed reading the collection and recommend it to any fans of LJ.

quick read that gives you a little more about johns position in the army and his feelings towards jamie

This collection of novellas was enjoyable, like all of Diana Gabaldon's books, but not really a must read. Even though the stories were really short compared to the author's other books, I still felt like some parts dragged a little and not much happened. Nevertheless, each novella had an interesting mini plot and there was even time for a little character development. I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series!

I like the character Lord john. However, I feel his story isn't as exciting as Jamie's and Claire's. It was nice to get a little background on John.

3.5 stars. Love Lord John Grey, but this just did not grab my attention as much as the Jamie centric books.
