Näköjään arvioin sarjan ensimmäisen osan myös 4,25 tähden arvoseksi, mikä on tälleen jälkikäteen ajateltuna vähän yläkanttiin. Tää toinen osa oli musta parempi, kun hahmojen tarinat lähti kunnolla käyntiin ja päästiin eteenpäin sellasesta "tää hahmo on tällainen ja se tekee tällasta tämmösessä paikassa" -esittelystä. Tosin mun on ylipäätään melko vaikea arvioida, kuinka monen tähden arvosia nää kirjat oikein on.
Erityisesti makustelin tässä osassa asetelmaa, jossa valtakunnassa on useempia kuninkaita, jotka kaikki oikeuttaa havittelunsa kruunuun eri tavoin. Kirjan nimi on siis todella osuva :D Edelleen Tulen ja jään laulu osoittaa musta hyvin sen, miksi se toimii niin hyvin sarjana, jossa keskitytään useampiin hahmoihin samaan aikaan.

Really enjoyed this second book in the series. Narration is excellent, and provides a totally different dimension to the tv series too which is ideal, if this is done after the tv adaptation came out he should get even greater credit.

Awwww yeah! Finished my last remaining book from last year. It actually took me over two years to finish because I kept putting it down to read other things/do school work.
But, the bulk of this book (about 800 pages when I picked it up this time) went by so fast. I read during downtime at work and I could get through 100+ pages in a shift. I already watch the show so I expected to be less engaged. I was so, so wrong. So excited to get even deeper into Martin's world.
Also RIP my real GoT love. (Wouldn't want to spoil anything by naming names).

Impressive scope. Love the way that the position of each character makes it hard to vehemently root for one side. I did feel at times that I would rather be keeping up with the Lannisters than I would with hearing of Bran’s dreams, Catelyn’s fears and Daenerys’ meanderings. However I do have faith that these set-ups will be satisfyingly paid off in due time.

This book felt very transitional which excites me for the next one, but made some of this feel stagnant. However, it had some of the most beautiful chapters.
