So good, holy shit!! Amazing development of history and characters from the first book, the prose keeps getting better and better!!!

A mountain of laces and pins. Small shocks gently massaged by endless descriptions and the tiny gears of personal and political machines made entirely from the proud guts of paper tigers. Look at all these tangled metaphors! I take them all back: Martin has planted not a garden but a hedge, only it was too late to see it until you're stuck in and there's nowhere to grow but toward the severance of the hedge cutters.

An overall improvement over the issue I had with the first book. Feels like the series has found its footing and will maintain this pace through the rest. Most of the new character perspectives that are introduced are very interesting immediately but for a little while one of them suffered from similar issues that I found with Daenerys in the first book but was mended as the story progressed. The only thing this series lacks for me as of now are quality "moments". Overall 9/10, Great.
