A review isn't needed for this story. It's an amazing short story that keeps you interested and keeps you wanting more. I remember reading this book in high school and just loving it and I'm happy that I happened across it again today and reread it. It's one of my favorite stories ever with it's simple, but heart pounding writing and action. I think everything needs to read this story!

The Most Dangerous Game is about a big-game hunter from New York, Sanger Rainsford, who falls overboard from a yacht and is able to swim to an isolated island. There he meets Russian aristocrat, General Zaroff who lets him know his new hunting pleasure, humans. And that Sanger Rainsford is next.
I've been binging a manga series where humans are hunted for game and food by demons and my boyfriend brought up "the original" short story that had that concept. Hence, why I read this.
I enjoyed it. I wish there were a bit more details to the hunt. We got a few details here and there, but I wish I was able to read more about Sanger Rainsford's inner thoughts and his worries and such. Either way, it wrapped up well and I'm glad I read it.

Amazing book. The only fault is that I wish it was longer! Fantastic!
2.5 stars. Reading it for the first time in 8th grade (just like everyone else), I loved it. Reading it for the second time in my 20s, I thought it was amusing. Coming back to it again now: it’s so cheesy and much too short, skipping over potential moments of drama and storytelling like a tv series that just got canceled and is trying to wrap it up quickly in the final three episodes. A great concept with an uneven execution. I have no desire to track down any other stories from Connell.
This started out as just something, I had to read for my English class, but it turns out it's an excellent story and I would definitely suggest it.
