I adore Penny, and will read every Gamache books no matter what. But I struggled here with the plausibility of the story seed, the relative lack of Three Pines et al., and the wild hunches Gamache and team follow literally around the world based on like, half a scrap of paper.

This latest book in the Armand Gamache series started in Three Pines, where it was soothing, tranquil, and relaxing.  However, it quickly turned into a terrifying domestic terrorism plot.  Even after finishing it, I felt my adrenaline racing.  It was interesting to see how the author wove so many characters and plots from previous books into this storyline.  I can't wait until next year's "The Black Wolf."
