Preface: This is the 19th book in this series, and it’s my first time reading, not listening. There’s a new narrator, and sadly I did not like it. And even though this was still a good mystery book, I didn’t love this as much as others in the series. Maybe it’s because I just miss the old narrators, but Gamache also felt out of character? He seemed a lot meaner? The plot was also a more thriller than murder mystery, which wasn’t my favorite. Penny is still a great writer, I just wasn’t connecting to this book as much as the others.
