What a haunting but beautiful read. MM just never misses. She also does an amazing job of capturing the true horror of the misogyny of the epics. These were not beautiful love stories.

Makes you think about our world and the literature that shapes us. There is a version of this same story that is male centered and told romantically. It's urges me to be more critical with the information I take in.

I've always liked how easy it is to read Miller's writing. I know fairly little of Greek Mythology but I can always tell there's an abundance of effort put in by Miller to encapsulate the original myth and to also create a new and modern reading experience of it as well.

Galatea is brutal and certainly reads very separate from how TSOA and Circe do as highlighted at the end of the story by Miller herself. It definitely feels more contemporary than the other two and I think that works well for the story being told.
