I cannot believe that this story is from the same author as "Song of Achilles". I probably would not have finished this story if it was a full length novel instead of a short story.  Despite its length I found some of the writing choppy and muddled. I appreciated the afterword and its explanation of the story's origin more than the actual story itself.

PIGMALIÃO sempre vira a vida dissoluta destas mulheres.
conferira à índole feminina, vivia solteiro, sem esposa;

Anne-Louis Girodet, Louvre, Paris

Short but definitely enjoyed this. I like how smart, straight to the point, and how eloquent Galatea read as. A super easy read.
