This was fun, the story of geese and their storage capacities. It all resolved a bit to quickly and neatly for my liking at the end there, but I enjoyed this nonetheless. Love how Holmes always drags our good John along. 3.5*

I adore this short little story with Sherlock Holmes and Watson. I read it every year around Christmas and it’s kind of become a tradition now! With the wintery setting and a case set around a goose (harbouring more than just the meat for a Christmas dinner), Holmes is on the case for the blue carbuncle which has been stolen not 5 days prior.

His process of deduction never fails to astonish me, and the pure amount of information he manages to ascertain from one little hat was purely mind blowing.

It’s not a long story and doesn’t take too long to read. I always enjoy it when I read it and will likely continue to do so! Nothing better than getting stuck into a case with Holmes and his trusty Watson.

A quick Holmes story. Nice palette cleanser before digging into a new audiobook.

I still like Encyclopedia Brown best....just saying....

My first Sherlock Holmes. I prefer action over exposition.

I love Sherlock Holmes and this one was new for me. Long time no see, it made me want to go back and re-read some of my all-time favourites.

Audible Stephen Fry

My first Sherlock read.

Plot was kind of underwhelming but the writing was lovely and Stephen Fry made it 10 times better
