Sometimes you read something and you can just FEEL that it is in a league of its own, above everything in its genre. This beautifully illustrated fantasy series has serious thoughts about nostalgia, time, magic, and death. It just hides them all in its slice of life series following a bored elf. Brilliant. Wild twist at the end about Frieren and demons.

Ce tome 2 est tout aussi beau et émouvant que le premier tome. On y rencontre Stark, un humain guerrier complètement mort de peur, et on continue de suivre Frieren et Fern dans leur quête pour trouver le grimoire de la mage Flamme. La fin du tome est pleine d’action et donne vraiment très envie de continuer !! Vite la suite 🧝♀️🪄

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Volume 2 continues the slow character development while also introducing the first arc at the end. Most of the story so far has been very episodic with each chapter or two telling a story about Frieren and Fern's encounter at a particular village. In volume 2, we get a much larger arc introduced as well as a more immediate arc that introduces a new villain. This story continues to have excellent character development through slow, thoughtful moments and it's nice to see that supplemented with a faster paced, more action heavy collection of chapters.
