A lovely, really well-paced romance that pulls off a convincing enemies to lovers trope without toxicity, includes love at all ages, and has a lovable and rich cast of characters.  It also depicts a broken family following tragedy, including how several family members struggle to heal from it. In the end, it’s a heartwarming read.

I quite liked this book. I loved the dual-POV between the two Eileens. I liked that an older woman was shown to be just as worthy of a romance story as a younger one. (Glad it was closed-door though I have to say…) A charming story of love and loss and grief and community.

I might just be bitter because I had high hopes for this book, but it fell very short compared to The Flatshare, which I found clever and touching and true to life. The Switch, while the premise is promising, felt flat, two-dimensional. I struggled to connect with most of the characters, couldn't get a grip on their personalities and motivations, and ultimately really disliked the moral of the story, which boiled down to
"meddling is good."
The HEA was as satisfying as I could expect, given all the above.
