Overall I really enjoyed this book but i do believe that it wasn’t Agatha Christie’s best work.
The characters were very distinct and fun and i liked that townies jump in and out of the story since its a small town and everyone knows everyone. I didn’t mind getting an insight to the whole town and their own backstories and at times it made me even smile and chuckle because i know some noisy ladies like that personally! The small town setting was very well developed and right up my alley.
However i did found it a bit displeasing that we didn’t get the story through miss marples point of view even though i really enjoyed Len insights and thoughts on the story
The reveal was fun enough but it i don’t know if i really enjoy the amateur sleuthing. Miss marple is a great and entertaining character but i did not enjoy other people constantly discrediting her detective work but i guess that’s part of the story and why she is able to gather so much information since other people see her as an unassuming old lady.
Definitely will keep reading the series and follow miss marples and i hope that the next book will be in her pov!

What a good book, I was thoroughly invested from start to end
I love Miss Marple. It has been years and years since I read these books and my goal for this year is to read all the Marples. Although the story is narrated by the Vicar, Miss Marple plays a key role in solving the murder. Look for the peculiar things and pay attention to human nature. It's that simple.
"The young people think the old people are fools--but the old people know the young people are fools!"
I loved her description of Inspector Slack--"well, he's exactly like the young lady in the boot shop who wants to sell you patent leather because she's got it in your size, and doesn't take any notice of the fact that you want brown calf."

This one was not one of my favorite Miss Marple stories. It was a good story, but nothing that drew me in like Agatha Christie usually does.

Since finishing the last Sherlock Holmes novel I was looking for a longer format classic mystery and this was perfect. I had read Agatha Christie when I was younger and I remember liking the Miss Jane ones and not the Poirot ones so I think I may read the whole series. It wasn't a mindblowing detective story but it hits it's mark and I was entertained.

One of the only benefits of being sick enough to stay home but improved enough to not always be falling asleep is the opportunity to read something. An intriguing little mystery--I must admit I had not considered the solution to be the solution, but I did figure out a different part of the surrounding mysteries. A fun, engrossing read on a day that I had very little energy to do anything else.
